Saint Josephine Bakhita Chaplet Prayers

************

On the Medal Pray

God of goodness and mercy, rewarder of the humble, you blessed Saint Josephine Bakhita of Sudan with charity and patience. May her prayers help us, and her example inspire us to carry our cross and to love you always.

(Mention your intention(s) here)

Pour upon us the spirit of wisdom and love with which You filled Saint Josephine Bakhita. By serving You as she did, may we please you by our faith and our actions. Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, walk with us as we walk closer to your son Jesus.

Saint Josephine Bakhita, pray for us.

Pray the Our Father on each of the first three beads

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.  Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.   Amen.

Pray the Hail Mary on each of the next three beads

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with Thee.  Blessed art Thou among women and blessed is the fruit of Thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

Pray the Glory Be on the final set of three beads

Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.  As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be; World without end.  Amen.

On the Crucifix Pray

Saint Josephine Bakhita, you were sold into slavery as a child and endured untold hardship and suffering. Once liberated from your physical enslavement, you found true redemption in your encounter with Christ and His Church.

Saint Bakhita assist all those who are trapped in a state of slavery; Intercede with God on their behalf so that they will be released from their chains of captivity. Those whom man enslaves, let God set free.

Provide comfort to survivors of slavery and let them look to you as an example of hope and faith. Help all survivors find healing from their wounds. We ask for your prayers and intercessions for those enslaved among us. Amen.
